International Conference „Time for Museums, Meet living history” 16-18 of September 2010, Krakow

In 2009, Krakow acceded to accomplish project “Museum product for selected cities around the world – promotion of museum routes in Europe’’, within which in ten European cities Krakow museums offer, put in six thematic routes: “The best of the Krakow museums”, “The art of Young Poland stained glass”, “The science and knowledge route”, “Route Jewish culture”, “Life in olden times”, “Castles of Małopolska” and Museums – Business offer will be presented. The culmination point of the project will be the international conference entitled: „Time for Museums, Meet living history” that will take place between 16 and 18 of September 2010 in Krakow.
The speakers of the conference will be inter alias, the representatives of The United Nations World Tourism Organization, European Cities Marketing and the European cities. The participants of the conference will be able to enquire about Krakow museums’ offer. The event will be an excellent opportunity to compare presented museums offer while thematic sightseeing of Krakow museums. During the meeting, also the panel discussions and the industry workshops with the participation of tour operators, the meeting planners, the representatives of the museums and Professional Congress Organizer will take place. They will be reflecting on ways to present and promote the museum collections based on the example of Krakow and the cities attending the conference. The museums offer within business tourism will be introduced as well. During the workshops the opportunity to establish direct contacts between the participants of the meeting will appear. The exceptional attraction of the conference will be the ability to enquire with the project of the greatest in Europe (6000 m?) underground museum with modern multimedia exposition that is located underneath the Main Market Square.
The participation in the conference is free of charge. The organizer provides accommodation and meals, as well as promotional prices for airplane tickets. The total number of participants is limited.

CONFERENCE VENUES AND SERVICES CATALOGUE  
Association endorses the Conferences in Poland CATALOGUE, the annual publication since 1998 by Meetings Management Bureau (trilingual English-German-Polish, full colour, 10000 copies). The catalogue includes more than 200 conference and congress venues, and a list of 30 Professional Conference Organisers.


BUSINESS TOURISM FAIRS - BTF
THE EXHIBITION OF CONFERENCE VENUES AND SERVICES
Association co-organizes yearly event since 1997. PCCA is involved in promotion of the trade show, in workshops and meetings, educational seminars, inviting international experts and international industry organisations - MPI, ICCA, EFAPCO.


THE AMBASSADORS OF POLISH CONGRESSES  
Association is collecting business leads for the meeting industry all over the world. Together with Convention Bureau of Poland, as well as the entire community of Polish scientists and professionals, we aim to enhance the image of Poland as an attractive destination for international meetings. The Polish Congresses Ambassadors is our joint programme to achieve the above goal.


EDUCATION, CONFERENCES, CONGRESSES

On 10-12 January 2008, the PCCA was the organiser and host of the Third EFAPCO General Assembly & Congress in Warsaw. The more than 150 participants from 17 countries came to Poland to listen to interesting lectures and presentations. The Congress was great success of PCCA and EFAPCO.

The PCCA was the host of the International Conference and Convention Researchers Meeting, held in Warsaw on July 15-18, 2004, with 65 participants from 28 countries.

The PCCA is the organiser of the European Academy of Meeting Planners and Professional Congress Organisers, the annual professional training for young PCOs. In 2008 there will be Xth edition of the Academy – held in August.

RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS – MEETING INDUSTRY LIBRARY
PCCA collects and make available publications on all aspects of business tourism. We inspire and order market research. The Association also runs the competition of academic thesis on business tourism. The Association’s home page www.skkp.org.pl is the useful source of information about the entire business tourism industry in Poland.
